In short

This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking tools and embeds no third-party content. Fonts, images and the map data are loaded from the same server as the page.

Map

The map view uses the freely available geodata from Natural Earth. It is stored on our server; opening the map sends no data to map services such as Google Maps or OpenStreetMap.

Server log files

When you visit the website, the server stores technically necessary data in log files: IP address, date and time, requested address, amount of data transferred, browser and operating system. They are used for secure operation and troubleshooting (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and are deleted after a short period.

Storage in your browser

So that the site remembers your settings, it stores a few items in your browser's storage (localStorage and sessionStorage):

• your chosen appearance (light, dark or as on your device),
• which biographies you have opened, so that "Random biography" prefers new ones,
• your position in the mosaic during a visit.

This information stays on your device and is not sent to us. It is required for the features you use (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). You can delete it at any time in your browser settings.

Links to other websites

Sources such as Wikipedia are linked, not embedded. Only when you follow a link do the privacy terms of that website apply.

Contact by e-mail

If you write to us, we process your details to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR) and delete them once they are no longer needed for that.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure and restriction of processing of your data, to data portability and to object to processing. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. You can reach us at barrierefreiheit@example.org.
